Ride Report - July 2, 2025: Rain in Butterfield Canyon

Just a small little ride up one of my favorite places. Butterfield Canyon is great because it has a narrow-paved road with lots of sharp turns. It is close to the valley, but not nearly as crowded as either of the cottonwood canyons.

It was cloudy today, and I did get a little rain on the way up. I considered turning back, but I'm glad I didn't. It was a nice escape from the heat. And I got a little time to just sit around and listen to the birds.

I was also surprised at how many people seem to commute through Butterfield Canyon. It seemed like there were a lot of people who just continued down the dirt road on the other side without stopping.

Here's a nice picture I took. It's a little different as you don't always get to see the valley while its cloudy like this.
