I Graduated From BYU

I just had a rather life-defining moment. On April 24, 2025, I graduated from BYU with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. It’s hard to explain the feelings I’m having. This has been my life goal for as long as I can remember. And now it has finally happened.

There were two moments in particular that left me in aww. First when I exited my final class. I was originally going to just go back to my apartment. But then I realized that I would only be coming back to campus a handful of times. I just had to sit on campus for a while and let the fact sink in that I would never have to attend another class (unless I get my master’s eventually).

Then the other moment was when I turned in my final assignment. What a crazy feeling. On one hand, I felt liberated about having all the responsibilities of school completed. But I was also a little bit scared. What if something wasn’t good enough and I wasn’t going to be able to graduate. With that I also realized how much fear and anxiety about school I had pent up inside me. It is good that I don’t have to deal with that anymore.

As for what’s next? Well, I had to figure that out. For my whole life this has been the goal. And now that I’ve completed it, I’ve made two more goals.

  1. Find a job with a good project I can get behind.
  2. Make a family

These are the two things that are most important to me and are my new goals I will be working towards.
