Fish Report - November 7, 2025: Lost Creek Reservoir - 11 Fish!
Things have been pretty slow in my fishing life lately. Since moving up to Ogden I haven't been able to go to any of my normal spots. And if there's one thing I know about fishing, finding "the spot" is like 80% of the battle.
I've gone to Pineview Reservoir a few times. The first time I caught a whole bunch, but nothing since.
Today I went to Lost Creek Reservoir, and it was some of the best shore fishing I've ever experienced.
The Location
Lost Creek is unique in that it is several miles from any major highways, so there just isn't as much traffic. Being just over an hour away from Ogden means there are fewer people there as well.
The Fishing
It was a little slow getting started, but once I found out where the fish were I was catching them every 5 minutes for a good hour.
In total I caught 11 fish. They were mostly cutthroat and rainbow trout about 13 inches long. But there were two notable exceptions.
First, the one that got away. It was the biggest fish of the day. A cutthroat about 17 inches long, and as I was only using 6-pound line, I went down to the shore to pick him up, and in the process the hook fell out, and he was gone. So, I unfortunately did not get a picture.
I did get a picture of the second one though! It was a tiger trout. It's been a long time since I caught one of these guys. I love the patterns.

I will definitely be going back to Lost Creek Reservoir, it was awesome.
Pictures
Here are the rest of the pictures. I caught 11 fish in total, but did not get pictures for two of them.

This was a very sad fish. It had almost no meat on it.

This guy had another hook in his stomach already. You can see the line from it against my coat.

This guy might become my next profile pic.

This was the biggest fish I got a picture of.

Fish and bacon for lunch!
